Tag Heuer Smart Watch Review: Luxury At Its Finest!
Tag Heuer has been designing luxury watches for over 150 years. When, it was announced that they would be making a Smart watch, let's just say expectations were quite high. It's connected smart watch was unveiled the other day and everything seems to be pristine but as expected, people are wary about the price. Then again, this watch isn't for the average consumer. You aren’t buying a smart watch; you’re buying the brand, logo and the reputation.
The watch comes in at $1,500 and will be available in 20 stores across the country. Once the smart watch loses its smart value, Tag Heuer will allow you to trade it in for a real Tag Heuer watch. Of course, you'll have to wait about 2 years before that happens.
The watch resembles the look of a Moto 360 from the sides but the face itself appears to look like the LG GWatch. The face is a giant 46mm across. There are numbers around the side and unlike the Moto 360, there is no bottom bezel. The design is modeled after the Carrera from the 1960s, but when we picked it up, it is way to light. The weight makes it almost feel cheap. Then again, $1,500 for a high end watch isn't exactly expensive. Overall, the watch has a masculine look but feels otherwise. Also, there will be a ladies version soon!
For starters, the software is Android Wear which will continue to receive updates and you'll have access to a wide range of applications from Google Play. Not to mention that it will work with both Android and iOS.
More specifications include 4 GB of internal storage, Wi-Fi, and of course Bluetooth. A few downsides include the lack of a heart rate monitor, speaker, or even GPS. The battery life is said to be about 24 hours but we have gotten past a good 30 hours. Regardless, it will need to be charged.
In any case, the watch stacks up well against competing Android Wear watches. But if you’re in the market for a luxury watch, you may want to think otherwise. If you in the market for just a smartwatch, go with the Moto 360 or an Apple Watch.
